Student Leadership

On Monday our aspiring leaders in Year 5 wrote short speeches to pitch to the Year 3 to Year 6 students to convince them that they would make great leaders for 2020. The voting results showed that all of the nominees were valued by the student body.

Our leaders for 2020 have been decided and are:

School Captains                                                                     School Vice-Captains

Chloe W                                                                                          Cienna B

Joshua H                                                                                          Henry H

Thomas House                  Hume House                     Darby House                     Stevens House

Luca H                                    Amelia S                                 Jaeger T                               Bronte C

These students have commenced their leadership experience by writing to introduce themselves to you, the wider school community. The leadership teams for next year have also written about their roles.

Staffing for 2020

We have finalised staffing for 2020. Some wonderful albeit sad news is that Mrs Vanessa Murray has been successful in being given a 12 month secondment as Acting Assistant Principal to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour at West Pymble. Vanessa has been a valuable member of our leadership team at St Thomas and will be missed but I feel she deserves this opportunity to progress in her chosen profession. Good luck and best wishes Vanessa!

Mrs Michelle Belle our Italian teacher is consolidating her days at Pymble Ladies College and will be leaving us at the end of this term. I would like to thank her for all her work her over the last 5 years.Mille Grazie, Michelle.

Mrs Kathie Wray who has taken on the library position temporarily this year will continue as a valuable casual teacher with us next year.

The few changes we have are Miss Harriette Churchill who was an intern on Mrs Ryan’s class, Miss Amelia Gorman, who comes to us from Victoria where she recently finished her Masters of TESOL will be joining our staff next year.

Students will meet their 2020 teachers on Thursday next week.

End of Year Procedures

Before the fun begins I would like to remind parents and students that uniforms are not to be used as autograph books at St Thomas. Any student wearing a uniform which has graffiti on it will removed from class and be sent home immediately.

We do ask that any uniform in reasonable condition be washed and donated to the uniform shop to support other families.
