This week we entered into a new liturgical year as the Season of Advent commenced. This is a special time in the Church calendar when we reflect on the Coming of Christ. Whist the rest of the world is busy focusing on Christmas decorations and Santa, we the Church recall those in our faith tradition who have waited for the saving power of God. This year each family would have received an Advent pack. Each pack contains candles and a place mat that can be used to create a sacred space in the home as a way to celebrate the Season of Advent. I pray that this Advent we are able to reflect on the year that has been – 2020 and find blessed moments to be grateful for. Looking forward as people of faith let us all live the words of St Paul:
Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.
Let all that you do be done in love…
Our Lord, come! [Maranatha]!
The grace of the Lord Jesus be with you.
My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.
– 1 Corinthians 16:13-14, 23–24
Maranatha – Come, Lord Jesus, come!
