Creative Arts

Creativity is a core element of a quality, robust education that prepares students for the world that awaits them after school. Creative arts is a valued part of our curriculum, giving St Thomas students the opportunity to be part of exciting creations, experiences and shows.

Visual Arts

Every class from K-6 does Visual Arts classes with our specialist Visual Arts teacher, Mrs Anne Ryan. Children have wonderful experiences with drawing, painting, design, making and art appreciation.

Each class teacher supplements our Visual Arts sessions with in-class art during the term.

Music

Music has an important place in the life of our school. Students in all classes have a music lesson each week with our specialist music teacher, Mrs Alison Dumitru, where they enjoy performing, listening and organising sound. They learn to love music through singing, moving, composing and playing.

Throughout the year, students also have the opportunity to see live performances featuring Musica Viva and the Australian Opera.

St Thomas stages a full school musical very second year in the concert hall at the Concourse in Chatswood. The production is staffed by Years 5 and 6 both onstage and behind the scenes, where they take care of all props and costume development.

Children in Years 2-6 are welcome to participate in our choir and band programs.

Extra curricular Drama is available through a private teacher and lessons are conducted after school.
