Both Year 4 and Year 3 finished up their Public Speaking competition for 2020 at the end of last week. We had a great selection of speeches ranging from philosophical debates as to whether or not it is acceptable to lie, “my life as a shopping trolley” or even the topic of what students would do if they were a Prime Minister for a day. It was an enjoyable experience for both the students and the teachers as we continued to develop the essential skill of public speaking. Having started the unit by researching a range of famous speeches to watching successful young presenters on a variety of TedEd topics such as ‘The power of reading’, students were exposed to new and exciting ideas as well as the opportunity to practice their own presenting presence to captivate their grade. All of stage two did very well in their speeches and should be very proud of themselves!
