Remembrance Day

We held our Remembrance Day Ceremony on 9th November and Year 5 led us in a very moving reflection on the hardships of war and the impact on families of loved ones away at war.

The Australian flag was lowered to half mast by the school captains. There was a procession of items in remembrance of the soldiers who fought in war. Such as: photos, a hat, medals, rosemary and each class made an artwork using hand crafted poppies. The last post was played followed by a minutes silence. There were poems recited and the band played ‘Prayer for Peace.’ Five students told the stories of soldiers during the time of war.
