Sacrament of Confirmation this Saturday 24 August

Sacrament of Confirmation This weekend students in Year 2 and other members of the Parish of Lower North Shore, will join together to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. Confirmation is one of three sacraments that form the Sacraments of Initiation in our Catholic Tradition. In the early Church Baptism and Confirmation were celebrated in a single ceremony. It is still done this way in the churches of the East. In the Roman Catholic Church, the Church of the West, the two sacraments gradually separated. In a number of dioceses, including the Diocese of Broken Bay, the Sacrament of Confirmation is now celebrated before the reception of the Eucharist. This restored order returns the celebration of Confirmation to its original place after Baptism in the Sacraments of Initiation, with the Eucharist completing Christian initiation. As these children draw closer to this special occasion let us keep them in our prayers. May many blessings come to you on your Confirmation Day And May God’s love be in your heart To strengthen you along life’s way
