The Season of Advent

The Season of Advent

A new liturgical year commenced at the start of the Season of Advent. This is a special time in the Church calendar when we reflect on the Coming of Christ. Whilst the rest of the world is busy focussing on Christmas decorations and Santa, we the Church recall those who in our faith tradition have waited for the saving power of God. The Jesse Tree has a long tradition of recalling the significant men and women from the Old Testament who were faithful to God and awaited too for the coming of Jesus.

During Advent we are called to be people of hope. Attached to the image below is a link to the CSO which has lots of helpful ideas for families to make this Advent sacred in our homes.
