Wildlife Competition Report

On Thursday the 14th of November four year five students attended a wildlife competition book launch at Chatswood library. For the competition you could submit a short story or illustration based on the animal that the was assigned. St Thomas’ animal was the banded sugar ant. We had to write about how they help the humans and the environment, and to spread awareness about the importance of biodiversity.

Four winners were selected from each of the 10 schools that entered. One student won the title page, one won the information page and the other two students were selected for their story. The four winners from St Thomas’ were Bronte Cunningham, Lucy McKegg, Charlotte Lowe and Sophie Hirschhorn.

The mayor of Willoughby was present at the event handing out the award to the winners.
