On the 20th of March, School Captains and Vice Captains went to the Light of Christ Centre, Waitara for a leadership course. Students from all over the Broken Bay Diocese participated in a range of the activities on the day. The focus of the topics was on leadership. Very Rev Fr David Ranson came to speak to the children about rules of leadership. He passed pieces of advice down to the current year 6 leaders who participated in the day. He then lead us all in prayer during mass which he celebrated with the students and teachers.
The representatives from each school then exchanged thoughts on what they could do to improve their schools. Two schools presented the projects which they have organised at their school to all who were gathered. They each spoke on what they are doing to help the needy. Some include holding a pink day for cancer, cooking things for ‘The Dish’ (meals for the homeless) and raising money for project compassion.
The students and teachers left the day with the impression of needing to make a difference in their school community.
