The St Thomas School Highlights are a celebration of the positive happenings in our school during the year.
The school highlights include a selection of academic, community, and athletic achievements and also highlight positive events and activities happening within the school.
Academic:
- Weekly Collaborative Coaching with all teaching staff to discuss, plan and review student learning growth
- Weekly French, STEM and Sport lessons for students K to 6
- Excursions and incursions from K to 6, linked to content in Key Learning Areas
- Opportunities for students to work with experts in areas of the curriculum
- Whole School recognition of academic achievement and growth in Whole School Assemblies and End of Year Awards
- Three Transition to Kindergarten sessions for students and parents
Gifted & High Potential Students:
- Acceleration opportunities per grade or subject identified and tracked as Gifted & High Potential

Naplan Highlights:
- St Thomas continues to demonstrate exceptional academic performance across key NAPLAN areas. Our Year 3 students achieved outstanding results, performing on average 50 scaled score points above the National average across all five domains. Year 5 students excelled in Grammar and Punctuation, recording an impressive 100‑point advantage over the National average, highlighting their strong foundational literacy skills.
- In Writing, all Year 3 and Year 5 students performed within the top two proficiency bands—Exceeding or Strong—reflecting consistent excellence across the school.
More than half of the Year 5 cohort reached the highest proficiency level, Exceeding, in both Reading and Grammar and Punctuation.
Faith & Mission:
