Faith & Mission

Faith & Mission

Our school provides opportunities for students, staff and parents to know and celebrate their Catholic faith. This is experienced through the religious life of our school. Members of our community experience a rich liturgical and prayer life, celebration of the Sacraments, faith formation, social outreach activities, and opportunities to share faith with each other and with youth from other schools in the Diocese of Broken Bay.

St Thomas Catholic Primary School in partnership with Fr Jose Philip OSH Parish Priest of the Catholic Parish of Lower North Shore and the parish community provides a faith filled community which encourages and supports families to discover the meaning of Christ in their lives.

Family, school and parish relationships work together to form our young people in Christ’s vision of life, as it has been interpreted by the Catholic community of faith over many centuries.

The faith filled community of St Thomas catholic Primary School embraces the values of justice, hope, collaboration, compassion, citizenship and stewardship daily in word and action. The Religious Education program together with regular celebrations of prayer, sacraments and liturgy, seeks to strengthen the faith of students and encourages and motivates them to respond to the needs of others and be active participants in the life of the Church.

Central to the religious life of the school is the person of Jesus Christ who came among us ‘as one who serves’ (Luke 22.27). Our Catholic school is committed to reaching out to help those in need, through charitable outreach initiatives. All outreach activities connect to the person of Jesus Christ and to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. Drawing on Catholic social teaching, we have a deep commitment to supporting a range of charitable organisations, families and individuals in need.

We are inspired by our charism to reach out to the poor and disadvantaged. Our families are proactive in extending the Catholic faith to the wider community through social justice and outreach.
