Year 6 Students Embrace Leadership Day across Broken Bay Diocese

Tuesday 10 June marked a significant day for Year 6 students across all schools in our diocese as they participated in a comprehensive Leadership Day. The day started with a Zoom session in the morning, where students engaged in prayer and singing.

A highlight was a video message from the Bishop Anthony, who spoke about Pope Leo and Mary, the mother of Jesus. This was followed by discussion sessions where students shared their thoughts on leadership from peers from other schools.

Danny Casey (Director of Catholic Schools Broken Bay) also addressed the students, sharing his personal insights on leadership. He recounted moments when he had to step out of his comfort zone to lead, inspiring students with his experiences.

The day continued with various activities, including a drama challenge and games, all designed to reflect on the Annunciation and Mary as a role model of leadership. The Bishop’s key messages resonating throughout the day were “Be kind, Be Brave, Listen to God, and Be the Leader you were chosen to be”

The Leadership Day provided a valuable opportunity for students to explore and develop their leaderships skills, guided by the examples of faith and courage.
